Information
FFR, RFR, and PPG are indices used in coronary physiology to assess epicardial coronary artery stenosis, while IMR and CFR evaluate the coronary microcirculation. FFR (Fractional Flow Reserve) and RFR (Resting Full-Cycle Ratio) both measure the pressure drop across a blockage, with RFR being a non-hyperemic measurement. PPG (Pullback Pressure Gradient) visually quantifies the pressure drop along the vessel during a pullback maneuver. IMR (Index of Microcirculatory Resistance) and CFR (Coronary Flow Reserve) are used to assess the health of the small blood vessels that supply the heart muscle, with IMR being considered a gold standard for evaluating microvascular dysfunction.
